About Leonardo da Vinci
Leonardo da Vinci was a painter, engineer, anatomist and inventor of the Italian Renaissance, and his notebooks are as famous as his pictures. Only a small number of paintings are firmly accepted as his, because he worked slowly and left many projects unfinished.
Two of them, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, are among the most famous images ever made. He spent his last years in France at the invitation of King Francis I and died at Amboise in 1519.
